One of the first things we realized when we began the Phone Skope project was the ability to incorporate others into our extraordinary views. Depending on the OS you use or the manufacturer you purchase, there are social networking apps that allow you to talk and view each other when you desire. What we have found when using the Phone Skope was the ability to connect to someone anywhere in the world and have them take part in whatever activity we were participating.
Most recently, during a Spring Shed Hunting activity, (animals with antlers actually shed their antlers yearly and regrow them during the summer months), an associate about 400 yds out was directed to a set of mule deer antlers. The unique part was that this was done during a multi-person chat session where the first person was picking up the antler, the second person was at the cellphone/spotting scope location and the third person, our cinematographer was recording the event 200 miles away on his home office computer. What was the cost? Two regular smartphones, a spotting scope, a home computer, a free Droid app on all devices and of course the Phone Skope.
Imagine going sons baseball game or your daughters piano recital and using our combination of devices you may already have, beaming the performance or session at bat to their grandmother two or three states away and being able to discuss and watch it in real time.
If you have lived in a remote location, you will recall seeing unique sights that you wish you could share with others just to document the occasion. Using the free social media apps available today for our smartphones provides all you need to use the Phone Skope to couple your devices for the multi-person environment.
