Earlier this week, Kowa announced their brand new spotting scope, the TSN-99 Prominar. Of course, we’ve been getting asked, “Do you have a Kowa TSN-99 Prominar Digiscoping Adapter?” Yes, we do!
Here’s a little bit of history on Kowa spotting scopes.
For almost two decades, Kowa’s TSN-880 PROMINAR spotting scope series was and still is to this day the envy of the sporting optics industry. It’s testament to the generations of Japanese optical engineers that have developed Kowa’s unique optical design and engineering techniques over many years. But pioneers do not stand still – they push forward and onwards, always trying to improve, it’s what Kowa have done for over 60 years and they were not about to stop now.
You can easily attach your smartphone to the Kowa TSN-99 Prominar with our digiscoping adapters. The C3-026-A Optic Adapter will fit the standard eyepiece that comes with the TSN-99 on both the straight and angled models.
Here’s how the Phone Skope Kowa TSN-99 Digiscoping Adapter works:
To start taking high-quality pictures and videos through your Kowa scope, put your phone in the Phone Skope Phone Case. Then, lock in the Optic Adapter and slide the system over the eyecup on the spotting scope. You’ll be phone scoping (or Kowa scoping) in just a few seconds. For best results, I twist the eyecup out “one-click” and then zoom the eyepiece to 50-60x. Your setup may be different, so the more you practice, the better you’ll get.
You can also use a Bluetooth Shutter Button to get even better pictures. Using a shutter button removes the vibration caused by tapping the phone screen. When you remove vibration, your pictures get better. One more thing, the Kowa TSN-99 is on the heavier side. A good, sturdy tripod will help you achieve maximum digiscoping results.
